PAULA                     Mmmm... Is it in a good way?
ELISA                       Let's just say that he works slowly like his older sister, but I think you were slower than him.
PAULA                     Oh... Really? Well, actually, I guess I haven't changed at all. At least I don't forget my homework at home anymore.
ELISA                       That's good, and I'm glad you're OK. What are you doing now?
PAULA                     I'm about to finish 2nd Batxillerat and in September I'll start a degree in Animation and Visual Effects. I'm so nervous!

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am writing to complain about a Durex commercial which I saw yesterday at a half past five in the evening. My little brother was watching the children's TV programme "Peppa Pig" on your channel and a condoms advertisement was broadcast during a commercial break.

These kind of commercials should not come during children's programming, when the audience is mostly from five to fourteen years old, because it is inapropiate for children.

Adult commercials would be better to come in a later schedule, during adults' programming or while children are at school.

Dear Anna,

Thank you for your letter, which I got yesterday. I was very happy to hear from you. The news about your interview is very interesting. You didn't mention if you got the job. I hope so. I was sorry to hear that you were burgled again. How many times has this happened to you? Five hundred pounds is a lot of money! Does the police know who did it?

You wanted me to tell you about what I'm doing in Edimburgh, and how is my life here. Well, I enjoy it very much. The course is good, but harder than I had thought. First I had no friends, but I soon met the people who are in the same department than me. Actually, I spend the all time ttrying to buy the books I need to read for my course. although they're difficult to find. I'm sure I'll find them soon. When I buy them I'll be very busy!

I'm finishing now. A friend of mine has to write a letter in French, and I said I would help him. Please, write or phone me soon. If you come to Scotland, you have to visit me, but remember to take warm clothes! The weather is very cold here!

The entertainment correspondent tells about the pop star's career and death.

David Bowie died after 18 months of fighting cancer, just a day after launching his new album. It isn't expected to be another artist like Bowie. He introduced new styles from artists from different parts of the world (concretely Germany) into the pop music. Lady Gaga is a clear follower of him. His music style is described as experimental and changeable. His last album was a little melancholic, but still impressive.

WRITING 2: NEWS REPORT. CORRECTION:

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE SCHOOL BANYOLES CELEBRATES ITS 10TH BIRTHDAY

Last Thursday 8th October, at 6:00 pm, the Official Language School Banyoles celebrated its 10th birthday. The celebration took place in the Auditorium L'Ateneu, in the same town.

The OLS, located at 155th Llibertat street, was inaugurated in September 2005. This public school gives five levels certificates of English and three more of French. Right now, there are 400 adult students. The school has got four English teachers and two French.

During the event, the principal of the school, Annie Gili, made a positive evaluations and said that the school had been a great challenge and, although the "ran the risk", "the school is now filled up".

Albert Bayot, the director of the Educational Department in Girona, announced new projects and the introduction of more languages.

The school team was congratulated by the mayor of the town, Miquel Noguer, and he also encouraged the teachers to keep in this way.

Finally, the linguist and communication expert, professor at Barcelona University, Sebastià Serrano, gave a talk entitled "Communication in the third millennium".
